Ali & Ava

Middle-aged, working-class love stories, suffused with tenderness and joy are a rare thing to behold and in Ali & Ava, British filmmaker Clio Barnard has created something bold and unique. Buoyed by a musical undercurrent and effervescent performances by British actors Adeel Akhtar and Claire Rushbrook, this is independent British cinema worth celebrating.
