She Said
Will you go on the record? She Said drew us into the final weekend of the BFI London Film Festival 2022.
Based on the New York Times Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation by Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, played by Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman) and Zoe Kazan respectively. Director Maria Schrader and writer Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Colette) expertly depict the incredible work done by the two journalists to break the story of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct allegations.

Glass Onion
Witness one of the world’s greatest detectives draw the incredible BFI London Film Festival 2022 to a close. It’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery!
Director/writer Rian Johnson returns alongside Daniel Craig (No Time to Die) for the highly anticipated sequel to 2019’s acclaimed Knives Out. Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island, but when someone turns up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc is put on the case. Featuring an all-star cast consisting of Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson and more, this is not to be missed!

Empire of Light
Glitz, glamour, A-listers, and the magic of cinema – it’s another great day at the BFI London Film Festival 2022.
Acclaimed director Sam Mendes, who also makes his debut as a solo screenwriter, brings to life both a love story, and his personal love letter to films in this poignant drama. Set in an English seaside town in the early 1980s, Olivia Colman (The Father, The Favourite, The Night Manager) leads an all-star cast also featuring Colin Firth (Operation Mincemeat, Supernova), Toby Jones, and Michael Ward.

The Son
How far do you go to correct the mistakes of the past? The Son draws us into the second week of the BFI London Film Festival 2022.
Director/writer Florian Zeller and writer Christopher Hampton, the team behind the critically acclaimed The Father, bring us another emotive masterpiece in The Son. Hugh Jackman (Eddie the Eagle) stars as a father who has his busy life thrown into disarray when his ex-wife turns up with their teenage son, Nicholas.
The excellent supporting cast consists of Vanessa Kirby (Mr. Jones), Laura Dern, Anthony Hopkins (The Father, King Lear), and newcomer Zen McGrath.

Living
Red carpets and national treasures. It must be another day at the BFI London Film Festival 2022!
Rounding up our first week we caught Bill Nighy at the UK Premiere of his latest film Living.
Bill Nighy stars as Mr Williams, an ordinary man reduced to a grey existence by the relentless years of an oppressive office routine. Late in life, he decides to make a drastic change and create a life worth living.
Making up the wonderful cast is Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education), Tom Burke (True Things), Adrian Rawlins (Grace), and Lia Williams (Doc Martin, The Crown).

The Wonder
Would you know a miracle if you saw one? The Wonder brought us into the first weekend of the BFI London Film Festival 2022.
Set in 1862 this period thriller stars Florence Pugh (The Falling, Fighting with My Family, King Lear) as Lib Wright, an English nurse sent to a remote village in the Irish Midlands to examine a young girl who mysteriously stops eating but remains miraculously alive and well. Is the village harbouring a saint or are there more ominous motives at work?
The heavy-hitting cast includes Tom Burke (True Things), Niamh Algar (Censor), Ciarán Hinds (Belfast), and Toby Jones (Empire of Light).

Matilda: The Musical
There will be no snivelling here! Join us on the red carpet as Matilda kicks off the Opening Night Gala at the BFI London Film Festival 2022.
Emma Thompson (Good Luck To You, Leo Grande, King Lear) dazzles in her role of Mrs Trunchbull leading an all-star cast in this delightfully mischievous adaptation of the runaway hit stage musical, also starring Stephen Graham (Boiling Point, Time) as Mr Wormwood, Andrea Riseborough (Here Before, Possessor) as Mrs Wormwood, Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey, and a breakout performance from Alisha Weir in the titular role of Matilda.
