Synopsis

During World War II, nine-year-old boy George (Elliott Heffernan) is evacuated from East London to the British countryside by his mother Rita (Saoirse Ronan). Desperate to return home to his mother and grandfather (Paul Weller), he embarks on an ill-conceived and dangerous journey to London, soon finding himself lost and in crisis.
