Directed by Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven), the writing and performances in this stirring drama are extraordinary. Synopsis
In early 1950s Manhattan, aspiring photographer Therese (Rooney Mara) spots elegant and soon-to-be-divorced Carol (Cate Blanchett). After Therese sells her a toy train for her daughter, the two women embark on an intense love affair that comes with complicated consequences.
