Synopsis
After becoming the Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary Stuart (Saoirse Ronan) ignores pressure to remarry and returns to Scotland to reclaim her throne. However, as both Scotland and England fall under the rule of Elizabeth I (Margot Robbie), a bitter rivalry ensues between the two Queens as they grapple with their place in a male-dominated world.
