Ryan Coonan marks his feature debut as writer-director with Rippy, which is based on his previous short Waterborne. Co-written with Richard Barcaricchio, the collaborators pay careful attention to mood, atmosphere and setting, bringing out the uneasy beauty of the film’s rural backdrop. Also featuring laudable make-up and practical effects, the film is produced by London-based AMP International.
