Synopsis

Sheltered lawyer Shardlake (Arthur Hughes) is instructed by Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean) to investigate the death of a commissioner in the remote town of Scarnsea. Insisting that he’s accompanied by Jack Barak (Anthony Boyle), the pair are met with hostility, suspicion and paranoia by the monastery’s monks, who will stop at nothing to protect their future.
