In 1968, amateur yachtsman and struggling businessman Donald Crowhurst (Colin Firth) embarked on a round-the-world yacht race, hoping to win the big cash prize. Ill-advised due to his lack of sailing experience, he still attempted the race, facing innumerate struggles along the way.
