This gripping, two-time BAFTA-winning thriller stars a top-tier UK cast including Gary Oldman, Toby Jones, Colin Firth, Kathy Burke and Tom Hardy. Based on the novel by Dorset-born John le Carré and threaded together by British co-writers Bridget O’Connor and Peter Straughan, the brilliantly tense film was co-produced by Karla Films and Working Title Films.

Synopsis

In 1970s England, the head of MI6 (John Hurt) sends an agent (Mark Strong) to scope out the identity of a Soviet spy in the organisation's ranks. After the mission fails, Undersecretary Oliver Lacon (Simon McBurney) calls upon retired agent George Smiley (Gary Oldman) to pick up where the last agent left off and stop any further classified information from reaching the Russians.
